Is It Too Late For A Heating System Tune Up

Once February hits, our heating technicians start hearing the same question: ‘Is it too late to get a heating system tune up at this point?’, and the answer is hands-down, without a doubt no!
In fact, most of our calls from customers experiencing heating system issues come in at the end of February through the middle of March. For systems that haven’t had annual maintenance yet, they start to get run-down and beat-up at this point of the winter…and we all know that the cold weather is going to be sticking around for a while.
If you haven’t had your home’s heating system tuned-up this winter, be on the look out for the following symptoms of a heating system that needs maintenance:
- Dirt – dirtier air throughout your home (do you notice more particles, more germs, more dust?)
- Expenses – increase in utility bills (has your home’s energy bills increased recently?)
- Cold – decrease in your system’s ability to keep you home warm (does your system seem to be working harder to produce less heat?)
- Noises – loud and odd noises may start projecting form your heating equipment (are you hearing loud bangs from your furnace or boiler?)
Also, keep in mind that you may be risking the validity of your manufacturer’s warranty on your heating equipment. Many manufacturer warranties on new heating systems are only valid if you have yearly maintenance.
